HOST Meeting and Geography Fair

When: January 19th at 6:30pm

Where: Bayshore Bible Church

What: HOST Meeting and Geography Fair - We will have a short business meeting for HOST and tables set up for HOST kids to put their Geography Fair projects. This is a fun way to learn about different countries and their cultures. You can start preparing now.

Each student, or family, will adopt a country and prepare a table which illustrates what he/she/they have learned. The way you want to do this is completely up to you. In the past, students have decorated science fair-type boards with pictures and reports. Prepared food samples are always appreciated. How about impressing others with a few words spoken in the native language or wear local costumes? Be creative.You can go to www.geographyfair.com for ideas and resources.

Prizes will be awarded so children are encouraged to do their best.

2012 HOST SPRING HISTORICAL C0TILLION

This is a HOST Homeschool event but you do not need be a member of HOST to attend. So invite your extended homeschooling family and friends.

Get out your dancing' shoes for our annual HOST Cotillion.
... Yee Haw! This is where the whole family (all ages welcome) get to dress up (optional but most do) in any historical period clothing of their own choosing. We dance the night away to 1800th century English Country Dancing movements and music that is taught to us by a trained caller, Mr. Jimmy Drury, from San Antonio. No dance experience needed, he guides each of us through every dance of the evening. This is the same music and style of dance that you would have seen in the movie "Pride and Prejudice"; as well as others.

Remember historical dress is optional, MODESTY is REQUIRED!
